Thanks to everyone who came out to Hurricon 2014 and made this year another success =) We had a fantastic time and met lots of new friends. Here are some of our favorite costumes from the event; check out our photo album and Facebook for more!
We are happy to announce that we’ll have a vendor table at Miami Hurricon 2014!
We went to last year’s event, the first Hurricon, and had a blast.
This is a FREE event, so come shop and enjoy some anime & cosplay!
The Witch’s Brew crew was at Megacon on Sunday, shopping and checking out cosplay =) Here are a few of our pictures. Got a cool Megacon photo gallery? Share it on the Witch’s Brew Facebook and we’ll check it out!
We’ve got another great event coming up in June – – the Orlando Toy and Comic Con! You know what a unique selection of comics, toys, & collectibles we always have, so come to the show and check out our latest finds. Tickets for adults are only $6!

We’re happy to announce that we’ll be at Miami Hurricon on Sunday, April 14th, 2013!
From their Facebook page:
“The Miami Hurricon is an entirely student-run and organized free anime, comic, and general geekery convention aimed at spreading awareness of anime and its associated hobbies and Asian culture. We will have an excellent line-up of entertaining and enlightening panels! The convention will take place on April 14th, 2013 from noon – 7 PM on the UMiami main campus.”
We’ll be there selling anime collectibles, including toys, manga, and DVDs, as well as our usual arts & crafts. It’s a free event, so come check it out!
So, big news at the Witch’s Brew!
We’ve decided to close our Flea World location in favor of hitting the road again to do festivals and conventions, and to focus more on our online sales.
We’ve really missed, in particular, going to pagan festivals and anime conventions, and all the good friends we’ve made in the Central and South Florida areas who can’t always make it out to Sanford.
We’ll also have an online store opening up in 2013 in addition to resuming our eBay auctions, so you can shop for witchy goods 24/7 😉
So December will be our last month at Flea World, but look for an updated festival/convention schedule soon – – we’ve got several shows planned for spring but want to finalize things before we announce anything officially.
And if you know of any festivals or conventions coming up in Florida where you’d like to see us, drop us an email or a Facebook message and let us know about it!
The veeeery last event we went to at this year’s Dragon*Con was the “King of Lowbrow” Q&A with Coop, who is one of Ada’s favorite artists and a big inspiration. (And a super nice guy!)
He talked about his artistic inspirations, music, how he ended up doing some of his well-known works (like the very NSFW Lords of Acid album cover), how life has changed for artists with the introduction of the internet, and a lot about art in general. He also did the artwork for the D*C 2012 hotel key cards, and was kind enough to sign ours.
Not sure what this thing is, but it was scary as hell and locked up in the Hyatt. If you know what this is, let us know; we’re very curious.
After that was a quick lunch at the Peachtree Center before hitting the road. (I miss you already, Thai noodle place!) Seen here: Nene protecting one of Jynxie’s T-Rex plushies from Ada’s con crud.
The voyage home was fairly uneventful. Saw a creepy semi:
And we met a giant cow!
Thank you for another wonderful weekend, Atlanta – – we’ll see you next year!
There’s not a whole lot of programming on Monday at Dragon*Con, but we did get to see something we had been looking forward to all year – – Emerald Rose! For us it’s not a D*C without them. Even on Monday they put on a wonderful show, including a few Tolkien-inspired songs to gear us up for the upcoming Hobbit release.
Tomorrow will be our last Dragon*Con post for the time being – – just a couple more photos from Monday at the con, and the voyage home. (Check out our photo gallery for many more fantastic photos from the Emerald Rose show.)
